Our December Open House was a heartwarming celebration of both Kingsbury’s legacy and its bright future. The evening brought together generations of professionals who have contributed to our organization’s mission, from those who knew Marion Kingsbury personally to our current team of dedicated practitioners. Among our distinguished guests were:
- Margaret Lenzner, who grew up in the Kingsbury Center family, whose mother worked alongside Marion Kingsbury, and who has remained a dedicated and loyal supporter throughout her life.
- Daniel Heimlich, our first official board member.
- Former Kingsbury Center leaders and staff members, including Liz Robelen (Former Director of Development), Jane Kwass (Board Member and tutor), Carter Reardon (Tutor), and Dr. Brenda Terry-Leonard (Clinical Psychologist).
We were honored to receive recognition from numerous public officials:
- Montgomery County Council President Kate Stewart
- At-Large Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles
- County Executive Marc Erlich
- Maryland State Delegates Lorig Charkoudian, David Moon, and Jheanelle Wilkins
- State Senator William Smith Jr.
- Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce
The success of the evening was enhanced by the generous contributions of our community partners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Potomac Massage Training Institute for their raffle donations, the Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce for their promotional support, and Negril Jamaican Eatery for their exceptional catering.
As we reflect on the evening, we’re filled with gratitude for the rich network of relationships we’ve built over the years. These connections strengthen our ability to serve our community and continue Marion Kingsbury’s legacy of removing barriers and unlocking potential for all families.
We look forward to many more years of collaboration and community service, guided by the enduring spirit of innovation and compassion that has defined Kingsbury since its founding.
